WaitlistBid

Frequently asked questions

How WaitlistBid works, whether you're bidding on spots or listing them.

What does it cost?
Listing spots is free. WaitlistBid takes a flat $1.00 fee from each successful payment; the rest goes straight to your Stripe account. There's nothing to invoice.
How do I get paid?
Connect a Stripe account from the Payments tab of your business dashboard. When a winner arrives, you enter their 4-digit code and their card is charged; Stripe pays the money out to your bank.
How do I post a spot?
Click New spot, give it a title, choose ASAP or a scheduled time, and optionally set a minimum bid. Each spot gets a share link and a QR code you can print or show on a display board.
Can I award more than one bid on a spot?
Yes. Keep open: Award as many bids as you like, now and later. Close when full: Stop after a set number of awards. You can close any open spot yourself at any time.
Do I have to pick the highest bid?
No. You see every bid with its amount and message, and you choose which to award.
How does the verification code work?
The winner gets a 4-digit code by email and on their dashboard. When they arrive, ask for it and enter it on the spot's page. A correct code charges their card and marks the spot paid.
What if the winner's payment fails?
The award goes back to awarded so you can try again once the winner has updated their card. Nothing is charged twice.
What is the display board?
A full-screen page you can show on a TV or tablet in your space. It shows your open spots, their QR codes and totals like the highest bid, but never bidders' names or emails.
Which emails will I get?
You can choose to get an email when a bid comes in, when you award a bid, and when a payment completes. Turn any of them off in Settings.
