WaitlistBid

Frequently asked questions

How WaitlistBid works, whether you're bidding on spots or listing them.

How does bidding work?
Businesses post open spots — an ASAP opening or a scheduled time. You bid what the spot is worth to you, and the business picks which bids win. It's a free account, and there's no charge for bidding.
Can other bidders see my bid?
No. Only the business sees individual bids and names. A business's public display board shows only totals, like the highest bid and how many people have bid.
Can I change or withdraw my bid?
Yes, as long as the business hasn't awarded it and the spot is still open. You can bid again on the same spot after withdrawing.
Does the highest bid always win?
Usually, but it's up to the business. Some spots have room for more than one winner, and some stay open to award more bids later.
What happens when I win?
We email you a 4-digit verification code along with where to go and when. The code is also on your dashboard. Show it to staff when you arrive; it's valid for 7 days.
When am I charged?
Only when the business enters your code in person. Nothing is charged when you bid, and nothing is charged if you don't win.
Do I need to add a card before bidding?
No. If you win, you'll be asked to add a card before you arrive so payment can go through the moment your code is entered. Cards are stored securely by Stripe; WaitlistBid never sees your card number.
What if my bid doesn't win?
It's marked lost once the spot stops taking bids, and you're never charged.
Which emails will I get?
You can choose to get an email when you win a spot and when your payment completes. Turn either off any time in Settings.
